Mission Statement

Art-Tech Rise is revolutionizing how individuals contribute to environmental and social causes through hackathons for change. Artists, tech visionaries, design thinkers, and passionate change-makers tackle today's most pressing issues during a two-to three-week hackathon supporting the United Nations 17 sustainable goals (SDGs).

What is a Hackathon?

A hackathon is an event where individuals from diverse backgrounds collaboratively develop innovative solutions to specific problems within a few weeks. Hackathons foster creativity, rapid prototyping, and teamwork, resulting in novel ideas and prototypes that can address real-world challenges.

What Are the UN Sustainable Goals?

No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life Below Water, Life on Land, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, and Partnerships for the Goals.

Air

Our atmosphere is already at the tipping point due to the massive amounts of carbon the people of this planet have polluted into it, and the pollution continues.

Land

Our land is being subjected to mismanagement, which is turning arable land into non-arable land, which displaces populations and minimizes our capacity to grow foods.

Water

Our oceans are being polluted to the degree that landmasses of trash, specifically plastic, are growing in the middle of our oceans.

Our planet is teetering on the edge of ecological collapse due to pollution. It's our responsibility to take action, reducing and ultimately eliminating the pollution that endangers us all. Therefore, the theme of the Art-Tech Rise hackathon is plastic pollution & Ocean Clean-Up.
